CDC changes its wording regarding chronic Lyme

If you or a loved one has been affected by Lyme disease, it probably comes as no surprise that it can cause persistent symptoms. While this can be clear to those who have experienced it, this isn’t generally accepted in the medical community. However, recently, the CDC has released an updated list of pathogens that can cause chronic and persistent symptoms, with Lyme disease being high on the list. This long-overdue shift seems to have piggy-backed on the emergence and global recognition of post-Covid syndrome which is known to cause ongoing symptoms. While there is still a long way to go when it comes to getting accessible and appropriate treatment for Lyme disease, this certainly appears to be a step in the right direction.
