Kelly Pfeiffer is an Advanced Practice Nurse (APRN) with triple board certification as an Adult Health Nurse Practitioner (ANP-BC), Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP-BC) and Certified Addictions Nurse in Advanced Practice (CARN-AP). She is a New England native, growing up on her grandparent’s dairy farm in central Massachusetts.
Ms. Pfeiffer graduated from Simmons College School for Health Studies in Boston with a Masters Degree in Nursing with Distinction in 2008. She was the recipient of the Pauline Wheble Tripp Award in Recognition of Academic and Professional Excellence. She has had work published in Women’s Health Care: A Practical Journal for Nurse Practitioners. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing Magna Cum Laude, from Simmons College in 2005 and worked as a registered nurse at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston prior to becoming a nurse practitioner. During her time at Beth Israel Deaconess, she volunteered as a co-organizer of Jungle Outreach, a medical team of RN’s and nursing students who made multiple trips to remote areas in Guatemala to provide primary care and obstetric clinics. Prior to her nursing career she served as a volunteer emergency medical technician (EMT). Ms. Pfeiffer is an Adjunct Faculty Member in the Graduate Nursing program at University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford CT.
As a Nurse Practitioner, Ms. Pfeiffer has focused her practice in primary care with special interest in treating substance use disorders (SUD), disordered eating and reproductive health. She has cared for patients in Internal Medicine and Community Health Centers integrating primary care, behavioral health, and addiction medicine. She emphasizes a holistic, integrative approach to health, implementing health education and primary prevention of chronic health conditions for both men and women. She has a strong commitment to engaging her patient as a partner and active participant in all health care decisions.
Outside of practice, she enjoys coffee, music, spiritual studies, the rocky Maine coast and spending time with her husband and daughters.
